The Main Event is the most prestigious series of poker tournaments around the world. Poker has no official championship, but the WSOP unofficially carries the name of the World Championship. The Main Event is the final series of the tournament, attracting people from all over the world.
The Main Event lasted 15 days and consisted of a number of starting flutes. The number of participants was the standard 9 players. First out was Chase Bianchi for $1 million, followed by Jared East who left the table with a $1.1 million payout.
Famous Argentine poker player Alejandro Lococo was seventh for more than $1.2m, followed by High Park, who left the table for $1.4m, Joshua Remito was fourth for $2.3m, and Turkish player Ozgur Secilmis was fifth for $1.8m.
Only three players managed to reach the last day of the tournament. Jack Oliver was the first to emerge, winning $3m, while Koray Aldemir was able to beat George Holmes to become Day 9’s chipliner and gain an advantage with this.
The final bout lasted four hours.
In doing so, the American showed amazing poker at Heads-Up. His bluffs were well-received by the audience, including the PokerGO commentators. In the final 223 hand, Holmes lost to Aldemir for the $4.3 million prize.

The river, brought: 9 spades. After Aldemir’s check, George went all-in. The German immediately called .George got on the showdown: king of clubs, queen of spades, and his opponent: 10 of diamonds, 7 of diamonds – making the latter win for $8 million.
Aldemir has gone on to rack up around $12 million in his entire poker career and has been at the poker top of the prestigious poker charts twice. Aldemir has been part of seven tournaments at the WSOP 2021.
His $8 million WSOP 2021 Main Event was the biggest win of his playing career. He was able to beat a giant field, including Daniel Negreanu – the latter left the first flush before reaching the prize area.
Daniel Negreanu decided not to pay the buy-in again in the future, giving up his attempt to win the Main Event.
