Interview with LeBron

LeBron James is the leader of the Los Angeles Lakers basketball club: for the first time in NBA history, he could become the Most Valuable Player of the Finals MVP with three different teams. He had previously achieved the same result with Miami (2012, 2013) and Cleveland (2016). A few years ago, LeBron was helped to reach his goal and win the title by Timofey Mozgov, who played a season and a half with him before signing a $64 million contract with the Lakers. In the interview, LeBron explained why the Lakers’ bubble title is a complete one, and gave a prediction of how long he will hold the lead in the NBA. He also didn’t overlook Edris Adebayo’s progress.

LeBron James
  • Did you cheer for the Lakers in the Finals series? What were your impressions of the club?
  • Even though I’ve only been with the Lakers for one season, I’ve supported the club while in Los Angeles – without fanaticism.

  • Did you follow the series?
  • Alas, I have not seen any of the games in full because I have a regime, morning training. Watched the highlights. Not ready to wake up at night to watch the series, but I would follow it with pleasure.

  • Did you congratulate LeBron James on his fourth championship title?
  • Yes, I did, but I haven’t heard back from him yet. I think he’s completely forgotten and doesn’t need anyone but his loved ones yet.

  • Do you think LeBron has improved on defense?
  • Can’t say for sure, I haven’t seen the whole game.

  • Are the James haters, who criticized the player for last season despite his injury, disgraced?
  • I don’t keep track of the haters’ criticism because there are a lot of them on social media, which is not surprising. On the court, James proves his professionalism without further ado.

  • What was your reaction to Janis Adetokumbo winning the regular season MVP award?
  • Personally I would have given the award to LeBron – I think he deserves it more.

  • How long will LeBron dominate the NBA?
  • As long as he’s motivated, he’ll produce stunning results. After all, many critics were convinced that after 30 he would have less of an impact on results, but it’s been a few years and he’s still destroying his opponents as well.

  • Will you be involved in filming a series about James if the decision is made to do it?
  • If I am asked, I will certainly be involved, but I don’t think there will be a series about him in the near future.

  • Do you agree with the fact that LeBron and Davis are the best combination in NBA history?
  • I can’t answer definitively, as I’m not part of the team and don’t know what goes on in the locker room. At the same time, they’re highly skilled players and produce excellent results on the court.

  • Which of the young players caught your attention?
  • I was impressed by Bam Adebayo’s play, I think he’s improved a lot and that’s changed my opinion of him. Judging by the stats and highlights, he’s reached his full potential.

  • How has the NBA been affected by the lack of cases of coronavirus infection?
  • It shows the top-notch preparation for the season. At the same time, there is a possibility that the victory proved to be more of a challenge for the players, as such conditions were new to them.
