PokerStars 2022 poker tournament – European Poker Tour

PokerStars organisers have confirmed: the European Poker Tour will be held in Sochi in March 2022. The exact dates of the festival, which will run for 9 days, have been announced. The long-awaited event will take place on March 18-27: the world’s poker champions will meet at the elite gambling establishment.

Highlights of the poker tournament schedule

The Sochi poker event will consist of a high roller tournament and a main event. The buy-in for the participants of the high roller tournament is $3000 and for the participants of the main event – $7000. EPT National Series entrants must pay a $1000 buy-in.

The tournament was last played in 2021. The main event was won by Artur Martirosyan, who won $326,000. Viktor Kudinov, who won the high roller tournament of the same event, received $97,000.

The long-awaited event will be held in the Sochi gambling zone, at the famous elite Casino Sochi, which is close to a five-star hotel. This is not the first time the casino has been used to host PokerStars’ popular flagship events.

Entry requirements

Players must be 18 years old or older to play. Guests should adhere to the dress code: casual wear is acceptable, except for tracksuits.

A participant of the tournament shall have a valid Russian passport or an international passport. Without proof of identity a person is not allowed to enter the tournament.
If there is no visa-free agreement between your country and the Russian Federation, make sure that you have a visa when entering the territory of the Russian Federation. You can apply for a visa by phone or e-mail.

Preventive measures

The organizers of the forthcoming event will do everything possible to protect the participants from the spread of the epidemic of coronavirus infection. A safe and comfortable environment will be provided for participants and staff.

The casino staff will make such arrangements:

  • Every employee and guest will have PPE (disinfectants, masks and gloves) available at all times in the gaming rooms at entrances and exits and at tables.
  • During the day and at the beginning of the shift, attendants will sanitise hands, equipment and tables. Furniture and temporary structures are treated according to a predetermined schedule.
  • During the day, special staff members will monitor the body temperature of all persons in the gambling establishment.

In addition, distance must be maintained. Appropriate measures will be described in a detailed and clear manner in the gaming areas on screens and signs.
